A Prohibition-Themed Musical Event

Get your hoofing on with hooch in hand and your canary on your arm — this will be a night for the books! Blue Haas and Faith Evangeline will blow your hat off, with guest appearances from Kathy Keyes, Chris Haas and Dale Scrivener. Local and regional musicians will feature: DC Duncan, Bob Hemenger, Kirk James, Jack Maynes, and Evan Suiter.  Nicole DeMarco will be our Emcee.

Please come dressed in your finest prohibition attire.

This event will be a fundraiser for the Pagosa Peak Open School; full proceeds will go towards school the programming and operations of Pagosa's first elementary charter school.

Blue Haas

Vocals, Producer

Blue stems from the heart of Kansas and has been a part of the Pagosa Springs community since 1991. He’s a man of the world and has developed his many skills throughout several countries and states.  Haas’ sculptures and paintings can be purchased through the Two Old Crows Gallery He‘s the singer for the Ft. Worth based rock band, Blind Riders and Pagosa Springs based band, The Derangements. Blue has been producer, set designer and MC for several productions in Pagosa Springs over the last few years. Haas believes in artists supporting community needs and is grateful for the opportunity to benefit the Pagosa Peak Open School. It’s his personal goal to revive the classy spirit of celebration.

Faith Evangeline

Vocals, Costumes

Faith is a vintage vocalist specializing in replicating the unique styles of the 1920’s through 1950’s. She has performed before audiences in Normandy, France; Austin, Texas; the Nation’s Capitol, and locations around the country. Her other passion is fashion design and styling through which she brings to a modern context, the vintage styles of the past. She is a founder of the non-profit organization Operation Meatball which honors veterans of the Second World War and connects them with the youth of today. She is represented by the DW Winters Agency.

A veteran of childhood after-dinner song and dance routines, and high school musical theater, Kathy Keyes’s creative endeavors of recent years have been of the culinary variety.  Still, on occasion, she has had the pleasure of singing with talented Pagosa performers, and credits John Graves with providing opportunities to embrace her love of singing and performance.  She is so grateful to perform with local like-minded blues and American Songbook lovers here tonight!

Chris Haas is a local fine artist and musician, locally known as the frontman and lead vocalist in the bluesy swamp-rock band, Ragwater. He has been performing in various recording rock band configurations in the Pagosa Springs community for over 15 years, including Knucka and Ebeniezer and the Crooked Hookers.

DC Duncan

Music Director, Drums

DC hails from Dallas and was part of the Texas music scene for many years. He studied with Mitchell Peters: formerly Principle Percussionist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and LA Philharmonic; and studied music at Richland College under friend, Paul Guerrero, of Woody Herman fame (1975-76) He and his band, The Bee’s Knees (Derrick Records), featuring Texas guitar master, Anson Funderberg, won two Texas Music Awards in the late seventies. DC has also drummed in the studio and on stage for such illustrious headliners as Johnnie Taylor, Marc Benno, Bo Diddley, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Chuck Leavell, Jose Rossy, Joseph Wooten and others; he has opened concerts for Linda Rondstadt twice, Elvin Bishop, Spirit, Savoy Brown, Edgar Winter, and many more. DC lives with his beautiful wife Jaye and their dog Sophie in the sleepy little mountain town of Pagosa Springs.

BoB Hemenger


Bob is a Colorado based musician, educator and naturalist. His soulful approach to music and many years of teaching how indigenous people lived with the land have led him down many interesting roads.He grew up in Michigan and has spent the last twenty five years in Pagosa Springs, CO (where he continues to grow up).  Bob is one of those musicians who is able to play with many different styles and musicians.  He is known for his ability to step onto the stage and let the music guide him.




Kirk James is solidly grounded in the Texas Blues tradition, playing Texas Shuffles, Ragtime and funky grooves. His unmistakable phrasing mixed with bottleneck slide conjures images of T-Bone Walker, Elmore James and Lightnin' Hopkins. A blues performer for over 30 years, Kirk is known for his strong blues guitar style and distinctive vocals. James plays both original material and also classics from the Blues Masters.

Kirk has opened concerts for Clarence Gatemouth Brown, John Hammond, Charlie Musselwhite, Tab Benoit, Los Lonely Boys, Eric Johnson, Coco Montoya, Edgar Winter, Arlo Guthrie, Anson Funderburgh with Sam Myers, Richie Havens among others.

Growing up in Dallas, Texas, and listening to such greats as Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and Reverend Gary Davis, Kirk developed an interest in blues early in life. A musician since the age of five, he recalls, "I grew up in a musical family, it has always been a part of me. I can't imagine living without music."

Kirk has received international recognition throughout Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, England, Germany, Holland, Italy, Norway, The Czech Republic, and Yugoslavia. In 1998 he won the Telluride Blues Contest in Colorado.

Solo or with the Kirk James Blues Band, Kirk can be found performing at Festivals, Concerts and small venues in Colorado and throughout the Four Corners Region.

Born and raised in Colorado, Evan began his professional career at age thirteen. He studied music in college and received his B.A. in Music Education in 2008.  Suiter has continued his musical exploration by frequenting Victor Wooten's Center for Music and Nature near Nashville, TN. Evan currently lives in Durango and keeps a busy performance schedule with both large and small groups, demonstrating styles such as jazz, Latin, funk, and contemporary rock/pop.  Suiter has also been an active educator teaching privately as well as holding faculty positions at Fort Lewis College and Stillwater Music.

Jack Maynes


Jack Maynes is a Pianist from Durango, Colorado. He graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2011 with a Bachelors degree in Jazz Studies. He frequently performs in a variety of musical groups, including the Durango Orquesta de Salsa, Robby Overfield and the Breaks, the Sounds True Trio, and Union Five. Jack also enjoys teaching lessons as part of Stillwater Music’s Katzin Studios in Durango.



Dale Scrivener graduated with a BM in Vocal Performance from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. He has performed in numerous theatrical productions Shrek the Musical, Titanic A New Musical, Children of Eden, Les Miserables, Godspell, How to Succeed…, The Crucible, A Christmas Carol, Die Fledermaus, and Pirates of Penzance,  He recently music directed a production of Avenue Q.

Grab a jar of our finest moonshine, whiskey, or gin and have a stroll around the joint with your guys and dolls. Photo booths and tasty morsels will set the tone for the evening. Grab a bite at the closest BBQ truck and settle in for the tunes to start.

Blues & Boogie

We've corralled the best musicians in the region to bring you a night of high-dollar Blues that will get your blood flowing and your bones shaking. Local superstars will join in on the riot, accompanied by your favorite booty-shakers and clowns. A half-hour intermission will split up the musical performance, with the cash bar flowing all night, and our cigarette girls keeping your pockets stocked.
